The objectives of public service broadcasting are achieved in terms of Prasar Bharati Act through All India Radio and Doordarshan, which earlier were working as media units under the Ministry of I&B and since the above said date became constituents of Prasar Bharati.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Programme Executive:

• The candidate should possess M.A/M.Sc degree in any discipline & should have participated in literary/dramatic/debates (OR) Any bachelor`s degree with diploma in Dramatic arts/ Direction/ Cinematography/ Editing/ Acting/ Art direction/ Production design etc (OR) diploma in journalism from a recognised university
• Language wise vacancies exist; so proficiency in chosen language is required
• Master`s degree in business admin. & knowledge of computers, social media are desirable. 

Transmission Executive:

• These posts are present across various departments such as General, Family welfare, Farm, Scripts, Educational, Science/ Tribal dialect.Hence qualifications also differ for each dept.
• Degree in any discipline & language proficiency is sufficient for most depts.
• SSC has also specified certain qualities as desired (not compulsory) in applicants.
